North America’s Best Fundraising Auctioneers Gather In Chicago

What an amazing opportunity! Getting to spend time and share great ideas with almost 100 of the top fundraising auctioneers from the U.S. at last week’s 2013 Benefit Auctioneers Summit held in Chicago. I’ve got to be honest; I was surprised that I was the ONLY Canadian auctioneer in attendance. What’s with that?

It was my first time to the windy city, and while I was hoping to meet Oprah, the fact is that my time was much better spent attending classes (that started at 8 a.m. sharp each morning) and rubbing shoulders with the best in the business late into the evenings.

There was a ‘Great Ideas’ session on the final afternoon, and in that single 2-hour period I gathered at least 25 fantastic new tips, techniques, and tricks of the trade – things I can put to use immediately to generate greater profits for my ‘non-profit’ clients. In fact, one idea alone generated an extra $17,000 for Calgary’s Heritage Park last Saturday night.

Since obtaining my Benefit Auctioneer Specialist (BAS) designation in San Diego several years ago I’ve really noticed an upswing in the NET dollars our clients are achieving at their auction events – these ideas really work! In fact, a recent study by the National Auctioneers Association revealed that on average, BAS-certified auctioneers raise 50% more money than non-BAS auctioneers.

So if you’re looking to refresh your event, or simply take it to a whole new level, give my manager Faye a call at (780) 487-5291.

We can help.
