The Ardrossan Recreation and Agricultural Society (ARAS) functions as a community league, and serves the Ardrossan hamlet and rural community. ARAS is a not-for-profit organization registered under the Agricultural Societies Act of Alberta. Agricultural societies contribute to the development of communities in which residents, live, work and play. ARAS operates the Ardrossan Memorial Hall. The Hall is utilized by ARAS, and rented by Group Members, other community organizations, and the public for meetings and functions. ARAS organizes and operates annual community events. The Old Fashion Picnic & Parade began in the late 1940’s and continues to bring the community together in celebration. The Lobster Dinner began in 1989 as a fundraiser to build the Ardrossan Community Theatre and continues to support community activities and events.
